Potsdam’s City Festivals

The cultural image of Potsdam is also characterized by many city festivals. Potsdamers are not the only ones who enjoy these festivals, as tourists from far and wide are also happy to attend.

For example, Babelsberg invites you to come to the annual Weavers Festival, where Bohemian craftsmen and artists take you back to medieval times in the Weberplatz square. The Bohemian cuisine cares for your appetite, while music and theater provide the appropriate atmosphere.

Every year in the Holländischen Viertel - the Dutch Quarter - the pottery market is held in late summer with presentations of handicrafts from the Brandenburg region and nationwide. In the spring, the Tulip Festival commences the festive season, with the entire Dutch Quarter bedecked in the beloved spring blossoms.

The Stadtwerke Potsdam (municipal utilities company) is always the host organizer of the major Potsdam City Festival, while during the City Lights Festival in the New Pleasance you will find that Potsdam at night is also bustling with life.

Every year, Christmas fairs in the city center, in the Dutch Quarter, Babelsberg, and the Krongut Bornstedt, attracting thousands of visitors both young and old to Potsdam.
