The Hans Otto theater (HOT), the Waldschloss, with its Havarie e.V. theater and DeGater '87 e.V., the fabrik, the Treffpunkt Freizeit (leisure time meeting place), and the Theaterschiff theater boat are the leading addresses for children's and youth theater in Potsdam. Theater program and musical theater projects for children and youth are presented here. In addition, there are projects, workshops, and productions with children and young people from Brandenburg and also, international gatherings and co-operation. One main focus of these activities is dealing with the often-demanding day-to-day troubles, as well as the more enduring problems in life affecting children and youth. This focus in sometimes in conjunction with expert instruction in stage and set construction or costume manufacturing for the theater pieces being produced.
