In 2007 this renowned event began on August 18th. It was organized by the Potsdam city administration and the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation, in close co-operation with an alliance of Berlin and Brandenburg-based agencies.
Some 32,000 Potsdamers and guests of the state capital experienced a festively-illuminated Sanssouci park and its many lavishly-floodlit palaces and other buildings as a perfect setting for the opulent cultural spectacle.
Naturally, many of the palaces were open for visiting late into the night. The traditional highlight was once again the tremendous music and high-altitude fireworks display above the Neuen Palais.
