Orangerie - Orangery in Sanssouci Park

The Orangery, in which the plants are still cared for today during the winter months, was built from 1851 to 1864, and thus has the distinction of being the final structure erected in Sanssouci park. It was designed in an Italian style upon the wish of Frederick Wilhelm IV. Ludwig Persius and Friedrich August Stüler drew the plans. In the Raphael Hall, the major room of the palace, there are almost 50 paintings copied from Raphael's works on display.
