The "Natte Werder" (wet island) was settled with Swiss farmers as part of the "repopulation" initiative by the Great Elector. The village church in Nattwerder was built in 1685, making it the oldest still-used and preserved church in Potsdam. To the west, it features a low, square tower with a brick-covered pyramid roof. The gallery above the tower entrance and the wooden pulpit date back to the time of construction. The east gallery above the altar table was added in 1797 for a small organ. In 1996, the Potsdam organ workshop Schuke installed an instrument with eight registers in the historic case. As once before, the sun and moon turn with the cymbal sound on the restored organ prospect. Since 2009, the village church of Nattwerder has been undergoing reconstruction.
