Tiefer See ("Deep Lake")

The Tiefer See ("Deep Lake") lies east of Potsdam’s city center, between the Berliner Vorstadt district to the north and west, and Babelsberg Park to the south and east. It is part of the flowing course of the River Havel.

On the lake’s western shore is Schiffbauergasse, a newly developed cultural and commercial area that includes the Hans Otto Theater. The northern shore features residential buildings of the Berliner Vorstadt as well as extensive dock and pier structures, while the southern shore is bordered by parkland. The lakeshore is largely developed and built up.
