Sacrower See is a valuable and natural body of water. Covering an area of approximately 110 hectares, it is a glacial tunnel valley lake (Rinnensee) with steeply sloping banks. The lake reaches depths of up to 39 meters, with an average depth of 14.5 meters, and is primarily fed by groundwater. Its distinct morphology and low nutrient input contribute to its excellent water quality.
The shoreline is home to ecologically valuable wet woodland areas and forms part of the Sacrower See and Königswald Nature Reserve. Water-dominated biotopes are concentrated in a depression on the western shore of Sacrower See and along the Schiffsgraben (a historic canal or trench connected to the lake).
