Further information:
- How can I use online services?
To use the online services, you need an internet-enabled device, such as a PC and/or a smartphone. Additionally, more and more services require an ID card, an electronic residence permit, or an EU electronic identity card with an activated online function. A PIN is also required.
To securely verify your identity during the process, the AusweisApp must be installed on your device.
For more information about the online function of your ID card, please click here. (in German)
- How can I activate the online function, and where can I find the ID card PIN?
After applying for your ID card, you received a PIN letter by mail. This letter contains the so-called transport PIN. You can use this PIN to set a new one in the AusweisApp or when collecting your ID card.
For more information about the ID card PIN, please click here. (in German)
- I have misplaced my PIN letter. What can I do?
No problem. Schedule an appointment at the Service Center of the City administration. The staff can reset the PIN on-site.
Collection of Identity Documents: Bicycle Courier and Pickup Locations
Since October 2024, there has been an additional option for collecting ID cards and passports in Potsdam. Citizens with postal codes 14480 and 14482 can now also pick up these documents at Edisonallee 5-9 by appointment. With this additional service, the city aims to ease the burden on citizen services and make the process more user-friendly.
Additionally, documents can be delivered by bicycle courier at a specified time at no extra cost. For even more convenience, passports and ID cards can also be collected without an appointment at the document station on the administrative campus at Hegelallee.
